历史沿革[edit]

1938年前此地属磐西都，其后改属第一区，1949年划归安乐区。[1]

1950年村中建农会，编入安乐区山东乡；1956年归五屿乡管辖；1958年改为生产队，归五屿管区；1959年4月起属五屿生产大队。[1]

1961年划入梅云公社潮东大队；1983年归梅云区五屿乡；1986年设潮东村委会，归梅云街道。[1]

经济[edit]

村内有1002户，人口5000多人（博雅地名网所载，年份未注）。[1]2008年村中经济收入达7730万元，人均年收入5037元。[1]

大兴钢铁厂为省级重点企业，村里另有金属类企业，并建有潮东综合市场和下洋金属经营市场。[1]

文化[edit]

村中建有潮东学校。[1]广东省爱卫会于2023年5月授予潮东村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
