湖南村位于揭阳市南部，南面与潮阳区金灶镇接壤，是仙桥街道的一个城乡结合区村。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全村面积共3116亩，山地占2200亩，另有稻田926亩。全村人口4958人，956户，设3个经济联合社。[1]

经济[edit]

杨梅、橄榄等果蔬是村里的主要种植品种。近年，村里拨款修建学校，装设了治安监控，又整治村容并修筑道路。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1931年归第七区管辖，1939年改为第一区；1950年划入安乐区，1957年撤区后归古溪乡。1958年为安乐公社辖地，1961年隶属仙桥公社永南大队；1983年成立湖南乡，1986年设湖南村委会，此后沿用至今。[1]

2019年9月，湖南村上榜2018年度民主法治示范村（社区）创建名单。「广东省卫生村」（2023年）的称号于2024年3月授予本村。[1]
