篮兜村南临仙桥河，是揭阳著名侨乡之一，村民中约半数为侨眷，属仙桥街道的城乡结合区村。[1]
人口民族[edit]
居民约2000户、10000多人。旅居海外的侨胞与港澳同胞合计2万多人，村民中约50％为侨眷。[1]
经济[edit]
仙马路，人称罗马铁街，约有一半路段穿过本村；榕华大道与榕池路绕村而过。当地个体私营企业有100来家，多经营废铁、铝制品、五金和塑料，规模以上的有8家。2008年，村中工业总产值超4亿元；村民人均年收入5876元。[1][2]
名胜古迹[edit]
村西的紫陌春晴属揭阳古八景之列。紫陌山北侧的紫坡台，明代翰林郑一初曾在此讲学。村寨中有揭阳市文物保护单位郑一初故居，另有御史家庙，庙中题匾3块，出自兵部尚书王守仁、林大钦等人之手。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初期为安南乡，归十五区；1952年改设篮兜乡，属安乐区；1957年仍称篮兜乡，1958年并入安乐公社。1986年设村委会，此后属仙桥街道，至今未变。[1]
2020年9月、2021年10月与2022年10月，篮兜村先后入选淘宝村名单；2017年9月，住建部公布的改善农村人居环境示范村名单中有本村，列为环境整治示范村。「广东省卫生村」（2023年）的称号于2024年3月授予本村。[1]
