人口民族[edit]
村内有7个经济联合社，总人口9438人、1887户，耕地1030亩。[1]
经济[edit]
村子西侧有榕池大道穿过，北侧市南环城路可通往潮阳坛嘴；境内建有紫东工业园区，四周还有省仙梅紫晖工业区与民营科技园区。工商业以五金、鞋业、塑料、印刷为主，也有部分居民外出经商。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
村子古称西川，又名东洋。宋代始祖杨绘因疏议王安石免役法而被贬，神宗熙宁七年（1074年）再次入潮，在东洋创基，此后成为杨氏入揭阳的首站，距今已有九百多年。清代邑志记载，揭阳城未建之前，已有槎桥乡。[1]
1950年属安乐区，1964年归仙桥公社槎桥大队，1972年拆分为东联、东光、丰亮三个大队，1983年划归仙桥区，1986年设槎桥村委会，沿用至今。[1] 2008年，村子成为区里的社会主义新农村建设示范点。[2]
2012年5月，槎桥村被收入第三批广东省历史文化名镇名村名录；2023年11月，村子进入第八批广东省古村落名单。[1][3]
「广东省卫生村」（2023年）的称号于2024年3月授予本村。[1]
文化[edit]
揭阳市第三批文物保护单位中有本村的杨氏宗祠。[1] 1932年，华侨杨仁梅出资建成五洲石桥，石砌桥墩至今仍在使用。[3]
