美东村位于榕城南区，北临榕江南河，南抵四号路，西靠榕池路，属城乡结合区村。[1]

人口民族[edit]

土地面积650亩，居民4698人、1000户，设2个经联社。[1]

经济[edit]

村里借助仙梅民科工业园的优势发展工贸。近年修筑水泥路接通榕池路，同时整顿了村容，修缮学校，建设排污沟。村中还制订《村规民约》《平安公约》等制度，引导村民形成良好习惯。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初期隶属安北乡，归十五区；1958年归安乐公社高美大队，1962年改属仙桥公社高美大队。1971年大队拆分为东厝、寨内两个大队，1983年合为美东乡，1986年设美东村委会，此名沿用至今。[1]

2019年9月，美东村进入2018年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建名单；「广东省卫生村」（2023年）的称号于2024年3月授予本村。[1]
