仙桥街道是广东省揭阳市榕城区下辖的街道，位于榕城区南部，北面濒临榕江南河，背靠紫峰山，东面和东南面隔金溪与潮阳区金灶镇相望。[4]

街道的前身是仙桥镇。1986年3月设仙桥镇，1991年12月榕城区设立后隶属该区，2003年撤镇改设街道办事处，同年11月之后称仙桥街道。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

地名由境内的古仙桥而来，该桥是潮汕三大名桥之一。[1] 辖区古代先后归属古扬州、南海郡揭阳县、海阳县、义安县与潮州，南宋时属揭阳县，当时的区划称作官溪都，明清时期则归永宁乡管辖。[3]

民国以后建制屡有更易，先后称官南局、第七区、第一区，1950年代又经安乐区、十五区等区划变动，1956年原安乐区公所分设古溪、篮兜、高美三个乡，1961年改称仙桥公社。1983年设仙桥区公所，1986年3月改为仙桥镇。[3]

2003年撤销仙桥镇，改设仙桥街道办事处，办事处驻地即原仙桥镇政府所在地，辖区与原镇范围相同。[2]

地理环境[edit]

街道位于揭阳市区南部，总面积45.77平方千米。[4] 北面临榕江南河，东南与潮阳区金灶镇以金溪相隔，南接潮阳区金灶镇与普宁市广太镇，西侧与梅云街道接壤。[4]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末常住人口为117254人。[4] 按第七次全国人口普查结果，街道人口居榕城区各街道乡镇之首。[1]

经济[edit]

境内建有多个工业园区，其中紫晖工业园为区级园区，另有金三角园区与紫东园区。[2] 2011年，街道生产总值为109.90亿元。[4]

文化[edit]

屯埔村境内大湖岩上的天山古寺，前身是明代末期开凿的天然岩洞小庙。九十年代改建成四合院形制的寺院，2000年1月举行奠基，十余年间陆续建成大雄宝殿、观音亭等建筑群。2009年，该寺提出列入揭阳市「紫峰山国家森林公园」保护范围的申请。[5]
