饶平县黄冈镇的上林社区，因居委会设在黄冈镇上林而得名。[1]1951年划归九区（霞饶区），此后经历多次体制更替，1999年以居委会的名称沿用至今。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年，上林并入第九区霞饶区的范围；1958年归凤江公社，改为步上大队，1961年转由黄冈镇辖。[2]1983年成立上林管理区，1986年建上林居委会，1990年为上林街道管理办事处，1999年又恢复居委会之称。[2]

2015年3月，上林社区经司法部、民政部评定，列入第六批「全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]2026年3月，上林社区获认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
