下赤村是文祠镇下辖的行政村，由赤水陈、坑仔李、洋洞、下赤水4个自然村组成，盛产橄榄与青梅。[1]
村史[edit]
赤水陈的开基时间为明隆庆四年（1570年），先祖陈懂家自福建莆田迁来。洋洞、坑仔李为李姓，下赤水因位于赤水之下得名，村中有陈、李二姓。1958年起归文祠公社的赤水大队管理，1976年才单独设立下赤大队；1999年起改设村民委员会。[1]
人口与产业[edit]
2005年统计显示，本村共210户，人口830人。山地1125亩，耕地350亩。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予「2020年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
