村史[edit]
明万历十三年（1585年），畲族雷承车从福建汀州龙岩迁入，那时此处已住着李姓人家。村名原作“李公坑”，1953年改为李工坑。1949年前此地称“石坑”和“峙”，新中国成立后称东社乡，1958年以主村命名李工坑大队，1999年改设村民委员会。[1][2]
民俗与人文[edit]
村里保留畲族祖图，招兵节列为省级非遗，畲歌列为市级非遗，并有明代宗祠和潮汕风格的民居。[2]
1932年此地设立过苏维埃政权；1957年，此地被广东省民政部门认定为红色根据地。[2]
村内建有畲族文化展览馆。李工坑畲族民俗文化村是省级旅游扶贫项目，2022年接待游客超过5万人次。[2][3]
产业与荣誉[edit]
村民以茶叶、香黄瓜、橄榄、杨梅等作物为主。山地7075亩，耕地260亩；2005年的统计为587人，分属147户。[1]
2019年12月，入选第一批国家森林乡村名单；2020年12月，被广东省民族宗教委公布为第一批「广东省少数民族特色村寨」；2024年4月，列名广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村创建对象。[1]
