江东镇位于潮安区东南端，处在韩江下游，四面环水，俗称“溪中”，隶属广东省潮州市潮安区，辖1个社区和29个行政村。镇名因镇域地处韩江西溪东侧而来。镇域是韩江冲积形成的江心洲渚，东面隔韩江与磷溪镇相望，南岸为东凤镇和澄海区上华镇。镇内有仙洲黄氏宗祠、洪灵菲故居、三元塔等文物，仙洲村的黄氏宗祠曾作中共潮安县委驻地。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋神宗元丰年间（1078年—1085年），此地隶属海阳县，称江东都。1929年，江东与南桂两地组成江桂区，1933年改称第五区。1939年，樟厝洲与上下湖转归江东管辖。1941年两区合并为第四区，1945年5月又分为第四、第五两区。1946年，第五区分出江东、南桂二乡；1949年初二乡重组为江桂区，1950年3月复称第五区。1953年，第五区分为第五、第十二两区，1955年第十二区更名独树区。[4]

1956年，独树区撤销，原地拆分出独树、红砂、水头三个大乡，当年12月三乡又并为一个独树乡。随后于1957年初更名江东乡，1958年9月设立江东公社。1983年11月公社改为区，1987年3月区又改设为镇。2013年6月28日潮安县撤销、潮安区设立，江东镇随之划归潮安区。[4]

地理环境[edit]

镇域四面临水，系韩江下游淤积形成的江心洲渚，岸堤全长约28千米，主要排水沟渠有东大排沟和西大排沟。面积有两说：百度百科作38.04平方千米，博雅地名网作约38.4平方公里。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，本镇旅居海外的华侨与港澳台同胞近三万人。[3]

经济[edit]

镇内过去以“鱼米之乡”著称，出产香蕉、柑桔、蔬菜、甘蔗、花生、竹笋和菜脯等。1997年6月，省里确定首批蔬菜良种与新技术示范基地，本镇一处面积1300亩的蔬菜基地位列其中。[3]

工业方面，2019年镇内有工业企业202个。[1] 抽纱与机绣产品曾远销中东、东南亚和欧美地区，1994年成立了潮州市江东进出口有限公司。[3]

2020年9月，阿里研究院公布「2020年淘宝镇」名单，江东镇入选；2021年10月，「2021年淘宝镇」名单由阿里研究院与南京大学空间规划研究中心共同发布，江东镇再次上榜；2022年10月，「2022年淘宝镇」名单公布，江东镇入选。[2] 2024年3月，江东镇被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

仙洲村的仙洲黄氏宗祠年代为1927年，建筑类别归入近现代的重要史迹，2020年4月入选第四批潮州市文物保护单位名录。[5][8] 中共潮安县委于1927年6月成立，此后机关迁回仙洲村，以这座宗祠为驻地，其驻地遗址为广东省文物保护单位。[5][9]

洪灵菲故居位于红砂村，名为“亦瑞居”，布局为带前埕的两进院落，建筑面积380平方米。洪灵菲是革命文学作家，2022年入选第十批广东省文物保护单位名录。[5][7]

独树庄氏宗祠位于上庄村，建于清代，2016年公布为潮州市文物保护单位。张氏宗祠在元巷村，同为清代建筑，2012年公布为潮州市文物保护单位。[5] 2019年12月，红砂村的学劳公祠与洪之政旧居、荣成大夫第等民居一并列入潮州市第三批历史建筑。[5]

井美村鲤鱼山顶的三元塔俗称急水塔，紧邻韩江东溪。该塔营建于明万历年间，自万历三十三年至三十五年（公元1605年至1607年）完成。据南方日报的报道，主持修建者为潮州人林熙春；塔原有七层，今存五层半，底层用花岗岩砌筑，以上各层为青砖。[6]

著名人物[edit]
