茂龙村是庵埠镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的东南部，在潮汕公路东侧，离镇政府约0.5千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据百度百科，村子原为马氏首创，称马陇，后分为大马陇与马陇仔。清乾隆年间，陈姓人家自亭下迁入，属于「四乡陈」。因地形狭长如龙，又取「茂盛」之意，改称茂龙。[1]

1958年并入下路大队建制；1976年另立茂龙大队；1999年改设茂龙村民委员会。[3]

人口民族[edit]

户籍人口约830人，而辖区内常住人口超过九千，多为外来务工人员。[1]

2019年9月，村子列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[2]
