华桥村又称下桥，为片村，含华桥、新埔两个自然村，位于彩塘镇政府驻地东南。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村始建于宋代，旧时欧厝村的桥墩低矮、须涉水而过，村因此得名下桥。清康熙间因名称不雅，改称华桥。1956年合作化时以村名设华桥农业社，1958年仍用原名，称华侨大队；1999年起为华桥村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
2026年1月，村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年至2022年，村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]
文化[edit]
北宋所建的福宁古庙位于村中，据博雅地名网是本镇古庙之最。[1]
