东里村位于彩塘镇政府驻地东侧，村原名东陇，因地处高阜之东得名，1945年为避同名改称东里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代有邵、李两姓定居，其后王、蔡、施三姓迁来。1956年办东里农业社，1958年公社化后归东陇大队，1962年定名东里大队，1999年起为东里村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内有铁业传统，素有“打铁东陇”之称，主产轴承、船钉、日用铁器和不锈钢日用器具。村耕地629亩。[1]

2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年至2022年，村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

抗日战争和解放战争时期，村为潮汕平原的革命根据地。[1]
