南方村是彩塘镇下辖的行政村，与金东村、金砂一村等相邻，同属金砂片区的六个管理区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前后隶属金砂四联乡；1956年合作化时设南方农业社，1958年公社化后合为曾厝大队，1966年称金二大队，1975年改为南方大队，1999年起为南方村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年至2022年，村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

南方砖瓦窑遗址位于村内，年代为明，2012年列入潮州市文物保护单位名录。[1]
