塔下村是潮安区金石镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区西南约1.5千米处，西南依桑浦山，西北与沙溪镇西林村交界。全村除三户杨姓外均为林姓，林氏始祖黄氏妈宋末（公元1270年）自福建漳郡迁来定居。村名源于村南桑浦山上的古塔。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

初来时，村南桑浦山上有一座古塔，所在的山名叫塔山，村遂取名塔下，此名沿用至今。[2]

古迹[edit]

宗山书院牌坊在村中的中离溪畔，明嘉靖十一年（1532年）由薛侃为其师王阳明而建。牌坊今存，1987年列为潮州市文物保护单位；2019年，它与相关石刻列入第九批广东省文物保护单位。[4][5]

中离溪边的石刻中，「开溪记」为楷书阴刻，记载了薛侃开挖中离溪的经过；「嗣浚中离溪记」刻在它的旁边，记述了开溪约九十年后溪道淤塞、后人重新疏浚的情形。[3]

经济[edit]

村域面积1.78平方千米，大部分为砂泥田，适宜种水稻、甘蔗、小麦、花生和生柑。山地上种有杉、松、相思、荔枝、杨梅、桃李和茶叶等，满山林木成荫。[2]

近年村中调整生产布局，部分水田改种经济作物，各项作物产量都达到历史最高水平。[2]

2019年9月，塔下村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年9月，塔下村列入「2020年淘宝村」名单。2021年10月，塔下村列入「2021年淘宝村」名单。2022年10月，塔下村列入「2022年淘宝村」名单。[1]
