登塘村是登塘镇下辖的行政村，镇政府就设在村里。村子处在镇的东南一带，东面与古巷镇相连，西侧和南侧与揭阳市接壤，北边与丰顺县为邻。[1][3]
村名来自村东北高地上的一方天然池塘，称「凤槽」。潮语里「登」与「丁」读音相同，因此村子又叫丁塘。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
村子的建立可追溯到宋代，早期居民有陈、林、雷、彭、张等姓，后来渐渐以柯、郭、林、宋等姓为多。村子靠近集市墟址，往来商贾让一些外姓陆续在此安家。村东的官仔龙和村西的旧寨头留有旧村的遗迹。[2]
1954年，当地划为两个大乡，登塘乡政府就设在本村，下辖笔埔、白云、扬美、林妈陂、溪墘寮、郑岗等村。此后很长时间里，这里一直是乡、公社、区公所和镇政府的驻地。[2]
1958年，本村名被用作登塘大队的名称；1999年，村里改设登塘村民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域是东西走向的丘陵。凤地山位于西南，西山溪流经东北，白云溪在西南一侧，省道从村中穿过。[3]
博雅地名网称村子占地1.4平方公里、耕地2437亩；百度百科则记面积5.1平方千米、耕地2370亩，两说并存。[2][3]
人口与经济[edit]
2006年12月，村中共5826人。农业是村民的主业，水稻、甘薯、甘蔗、豆类为主要作物，山地种杉、松、竹、茶和果树，也有柑橘类作物。[2]
阿里研究院于2020年9月公布的「2020年淘宝村」名单中有登塘村。南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院2021年10月联合发布的名单，同样列入本村。2022年10月发布的「2022年淘宝村」名单里，登塘村又一次入选。[1]
文化[edit]
村内有柯氏宗祠、郭氏宗祠和关帝庙等古建筑，另立有广东人民抗日游击队韩江纵队第一支队的烈士纪念碑。[3]
韩纵革命烈士纪念碑建于1954年；2006年，它被列为潮州市文物保护单位。[1]
登塘村于2023年5月获得「2022年广东省卫生村」称号，授予方为广东省爱卫会。[1]
