官塘镇是广东省潮州市湘桥区下辖的镇，位于湘桥区东南部。镇境东与铁铺镇相邻，西与磷溪镇相接，南与汕头市澄海区的隆都镇接壤。[1]

全镇辖1个社区和15个行政村，镇政府驻地在官塘社区。[1] 该镇原属潮安县，2013年随潮安县撤县设区，改隶潮州市湘桥区。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地古称鹳塘，百度百科又称有鹤塘之名。[1] 博雅地名网的说法是：古时镇南为沼泽，鹳鸟成群，因而称鹳塘，至1910年以谐音改为官塘。[2] 百度百科则称清宣统二年（1910年）起才叫官塘。[1]

解放后，此地划为潮安县第四区，1958年，铁埔乡与此地合并，称铁埔公社；1976年，又从中分出官塘公社。1983年官塘公社改为官塘区，1987年区改设为镇。[2][1]

2013年6月28日，潮安县撤县设区，官塘镇随之改隶潮州市湘桥区。[2][1]

镇域北边为山地，南边是平原与残丘，北溪河自境内流过，年平均气温20℃。[1] 百度百科作面积31.09平方千米，博雅地名网概况页作29.2平方千米且未注明年份。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

官塘文昌祠在苏二村新埠，属近现代重要史迹与代表性建筑，年代标为1948年，于2020年4月16日公布入选「第四批潮州市文物保护单位」。[4]

陈增陈坦墓在巷下村狮山，时代为宋，属古墓葬，同样于2020年4月16日公布入选「第四批潮州市文物保护单位」。[5][6]
