南头镇隶属广东省中山市，位于市域北部，东南与黄圃镇为邻，北面与佛山市顺德区接壤，镇政府设在南头大道中。全镇下辖穗西、民安、北帝、滘心、南城、将军六个社区，工业以家电为主。[1][6]

百度百科给出的辖区面积为25.71平方千米，常住人口约25万，户籍人口约6万，数据时点为2024年末。博雅地名网所载面积约28平方公里，未注年份。[1][2]

镇境位处坡头沙的南部，坡头沙属东海十六沙之一，「南头」之名由此而来。[6]

历史沿革[edit]

清初已有人在此开垦，地属黄旗都。宣统二年（1910年）归第九区管辖；民国十九年（1930年）该区改为东海区，翌年又恢复原名。1953年并入第七区，1955年8月第七区更名南头区，区域连带东凤在内。1957年撤区后，南头与东凤各自独立，南头设为乡，当年改设公社，冬季又并入小榄。1958年重新分出，1961年与东凤合为区，1963年改回公社。1974年春再度分开，1983年恢复为区，1986年12月始称镇。[3]

南头镇处在珠江三角洲的中心，属珠江出海口的海积冲积平原，地势平坦。鸡鸦水道、黄圃水道与容桂水道穿境而过，河网密度为0.9—1.1千米/平方千米。镇域东南与黄圃镇接壤，与小榄镇、阜沙镇隔鸡鸦水道相对。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

各家公布的人口数字并不一致。博雅地名网称，依第七次全国人口普查结果，2021年5月公布的南头镇人口为15.8万人。百度百科给出的数字为约25万人，统计时点是2024年末。维基百科页面上的人口数为158,234人，页面标注的年份写作「2,020」；该页所据为旧资料，其行政机构的数量与今不同。[4][1][5]

南头以工业立镇，家电是主要产业。据百度百科，2024年地区生产总值为203.1亿元，增速13.3%；工业产值已超过830亿元，空调、冰箱、电视机的产量依次为2000万台、1500万台和1200万台（未注年份）。[1]

博雅地名网记述的产业数字偏早：工业企业近2000家，其中家电及配套企业逾600家，家电产业占工业总产值八成以上。品牌方面列出的有长虹、樱雪厨卫、奥马电器、松德机械。页中有「十二五」期间的目标，可知其数字大致属这一阶段，但未注明年份。[2]

南头的民间文化以五人飞艇赛（小龙舟）和灯酒习俗为代表。百度百科称五人飞艇列入省级非物质文化遗产名录，灯酒习俗列入市级名录；民安社区的介绍则称五人飞艇获批为中山市非物质文化遗产，灯酒习俗于2009年纳入市非物质文化遗产。两处对五人飞艇的级别说法不一，本条目未作取舍。[1][7]

环境保护部于2008年4月将「第七批全国环境优美乡镇」称号授予南头镇；南头镇是第二届全国文明村镇名单中的一员，时间为2009年1月。2017年9月，省林业主管部门把南头镇列为「2017年广东省森林小镇」。据博雅地名网，全国爱国卫生运动委员会在2022年1月重新确认南头镇属「2021年度国家卫生乡镇（县城）」。[4]

2025年5月南头镇进入「广东省百千万工程第二批专业镇」建设名单；2026年3月，又被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[4]

著名人物[edit]

南头孖沙村人梁伯雄（生卒年1911年至1945年）于1937年末入党，在孖沙和九区两地担任支部与区委的书记一职。1945年5月，九区大队在孖沙遭围攻，他在指挥战斗中牺牲。[6][7]

吴森辉，1939年（民国28年）生于南头，摄影家，大校军衔。职业上历任新华社解放军分社及军事摄影采编部主任，后为新华社高级记者，兼任中国摄影家协会委员。[6]
