港口社区是广东省中山市港口镇下辖的社区，位于镇域中部。它东面与群众、新港、胜隆三个社区接壤，西面连着西街社区，辖区东西方向约5公里，南北方向约4.5公里。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地在14世纪初由淤积而成陆，明宣德年间（1426至1435年）已有聚落，清末发展为圩市。它是石岐通往广州途中的一处重要港口，故以港口为名。[2]

民国以后，此地的建制几经变动：1910年隶属香山县第一区，1949年设乡，1953年改为中山县第十一区，1958年建公社，1979年改为人民公社，1983年11月设为港口区。1986年12月撤区设镇，此地改设港口居民委员会；2002年3月6日更名为港口社区居民委员会。[2] 博雅地名网的社区沿革另记1953年6月称港口镇。[4]

社区名称取自其驻地位于镇中心的繁华地段。[1]

人口民族[edit]

社区户籍人口8609人（统计截至2024年），常住人口约25000人。辖区内东街、西街各组共13个居民小组，另有建华花园、兴港花园、星晨花园等十个花园小区，并覆盖横涌飞地一带。[2]

社会事业[edit]

辖内设小学1所、幼儿园3所、托儿所3所，另有社区卫生服务站1间，休闲健身小公园两个。约550平方米的党群服务中心于2020年依照「一厅五室」的标准设置。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

辖内有天后宫古庙一座。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年9月，港口社区被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」。[1]
