历史沿革[edit]
1970年8月，中山县在横门筹设渔业公社，将小榄、黄圃、民众、神湾、坦洲的渔队划归其下[2]。1975年前后，几处渔村陆续迁到横门定居，涌口门一带的渔民则仍住在原地[2]。
1986年，渔业公社改为横门镇，设立横门居委会；1992年，涌口门渔村划归南朗镇管辖；1998年，翠亨、南朗、横门三镇合并[3]。
2001年12月，行政村调整时，民众、小榄、黄圃、涌口门四条渔村撤销，并入原横门居委会，组建成横门社区居民委员会[3]。
人口与经济[edit]
据百度百科，2025年8月的统计为：户籍628户，人口2321人；渔民占近九成，其余多为原横门镇企事业单位的人员[4]。社区没有土地和企业，集体经济薄弱，日常运作经费主要依靠上级拨付[2]。
