土瓜岭村位于东区街道中部，距东区办事处约2千米，现属桃苑社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

“土瓜岭”一名的来历，据称一是山丘形似土瓜，一是当地出产土瓜；村落的开辟可上溯到南宋绍兴末年。[1]

这里在宋元时为香山县永乐乡的一部分；此后数度改动行政区划，自2005年起划归桃苑社区。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

据百度百科，2015年末户籍人口为688人，另有非户籍外来人口1321人。该村是汉族村落，属广府民系，通行粤方言石岐话。[1]

此前村民以种水稻为生，如今以工商业为主。村集体靠物业出租发展，并引入多家企业。[1]
