小鳌溪村在东区街道的东南一带，紫马岭在其北侧，大鳌溪村与之相邻于东面。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村落所在一带在宋元时已有居民。至明永乐十八年（1420年）立村，初归永丰村管辖，直到1821年（道光元年）才自成一村。村名经历细鳌街荫、细鳌街等称呼，20世纪初定为现名。[1]
1958年时属中山县环城公社；2005年起，村归东区新鳌岭社区管辖。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
2015年末，村内登记户籍的有1419人，外来非户籍人口约5000人。日常用语为石岐话，姓氏以林、郑、梁居多。[1]
早年村民以农业为生，种水稻、荔枝和橄榄；1998年后，随着土地被征用，产业逐渐转向工商业。[1]
