紫马岭村位于东区街道中部，距东区办事处约1千米，南靠紫马岭公园。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

紫马岭村的建村者为凌姓，清初迁来后在山岭北侧立村，村名来自背后的紫马岭后门山。[1]

民间相传，明清时期石岐的富家子弟常在此山跑马游玩，最初称走马岭；后因一匹青色马驹葬于此，改称紫马岭。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

村庄位于五桂山北麓的丘陵地区，地势南高北低，村落呈块状分布，北望土瓜岭。[1]

据百度百科，村民约1100人，村中的著名景点为紫马岭公园和杨仙逸将军墓。[1]
