老富头村位于东区街道北部，距东区办事处约3千米，北接白沙湾村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元至顺至正年间（1330年至1368年），郑姓人从大庞头（今沙溪镇庞头村）迁来建村。[1]

村旁有老虎山，海拔68.7米。村名最初为老虎头村，后写作老户头村，清末改称老富头村。[1]

地理[edit]

村东南靠老虎山，西与沙岗墟综合市场相邻。羊角涌自南向北穿过村落西部，流入岐江。[1]

村落呈长方形块状分布。长江路修通后，村子在东西方向上被一分为二。[1]
