历史沿革[edit]
横沥在1953年与半仙山合设横山乡，1958年起称横沥生产大队。1983年建乡，1987年设管理区，1999年成为村委会，沿用至今。[2]
人口与土地[edit]
镇政府网站村情资料（未注明年份）称，户籍人口约2155人，外来人员约450人。村内农田面积1200多亩，以香蕉与蔬菜为主要农产品。[1]
村民的收入主要来自农业生产。同一资料称，村内现有民营企业7家、外资企业1家，行业涉及彩印包装、造纸、化工、塑料、家具等。[1]

同一村情资料称，村集体总资产为33331万元，负债总额为1383万元，年份未注明。横沥村曾是望牛墩镇的12个扶贫村之一。[1]
