涌头社区位于长安镇东南部，东南面与深圳市宝安区接壤，东北面毗邻大岭山镇，旧称溪头。[1][2]

社区下辖溪东、溪南、溪安、龙泉四个经济合作社，产业以不锈钢饰品为主，并保留了文天祥纪念馆等文化遗存。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明末，江西籍人士迁入此地，黄姓家族由此定居。[2]

1949年后此地先后隶属长边乡与霄边乡，1958年公社化后划入霄边、锦厦大队，1960年另设涌头大队。1983年改设涌头乡，1986年改为涌头管理区，1998年成为涌头村委会，2005年村改居，设涌头社区居委会。[2]

据东莞市人民政府门户网站，社区面积约3.89平方千米，2025年末，社区居住人口约7.46万人，户籍居民为2041人，共有企业742家。[1]

文化与荣誉[edit]

社区内有文天祥纪念馆1处、祠堂古庙3处，并把文化广场、麻石巷和若干口袋公园连成一片，为居民提供3万多平方米的公共文化活动空间。[1]

2023年4月，涌头社区见于「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[2]
