大环村位于大岭山镇西北部，距镇政府约5千米，总面积约4平方千米，东西南北分别与连平村、下高田村、百花洞村、梅林村为邻[1]。厚大路与连马路经过村子，离广龙高速很近[1]。1959年，村子被广东省人民政府确认为革命老区村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，吴氏于清乾隆年间自龙川铁场来此，刘氏则在嘉庆年间自宝安岛石岩罗姿迁入，清末黄氏从邻村「火烧围」迁入定居。村子初名龙溪，后称大弯，再改称大环[2]。

1950年归连平乡，1957年归大沙乡，1958年公社化后划入寮步公社；1961年大岭山公社设立时，此地编为大环大队；1968年它并进大地大队，1979年又独立出来；1983年设乡，1986年为管理区，1999年成为村民委员会[2]。

荣誉[edit]

村子获得「省卫生村」「市卫生村」「东莞市市容环境优美村」「市文明村」「市平安村」等称号，并在镇级的精神文明建设、安全生产与食品安全等方面获评先进[1]。
