沙湖社区位于塘厦镇西南，距镇中心区约4公里，距深圳市中心约40公里。社区辖下有老围、新围、泰来、门口围、禾生、树山六条自然村，其中老围面积最大、人口最多，历来是社区政务中心。辖区面积4.6平方千米，2016年3月户籍人口627人[1]。

交通与设施[edit]

沙湖大道全长3.7公里，南接深圳宝安区，北接蛟坪大道，经莞深高速大坪出入口可达。大道南段建有村民商住楼87栋、农村商业银行、卫生站，村内有沙湖综合市场、湖景休闲公园和沙湖广场[1]。

古迹[edit]

沙湖盘古庙始建于清代乾隆年间，是社区内的古庙[2][1]。
