凤凰岗社区位于塘厦镇东南部，东深公路与东深二路从社区中穿过，广深铁路从边缘跨过。辖区面积5.37平方千米，设7个居民小组。户籍居民1449人，流动人口约一万零六百余，其中港澳台同胞约1260人，海外华侨约110人[1]。

社区内规模以上工厂近百家，外资企业23家，内资企业30家，规上企业11家。社区借“三旧改造”兴建新厂区，并沿东深公路边形成一条特色家具街，东江、光辉、美格等家具销售企业在此落户[1]。
