石鼓社区位于塘厦镇南部，南接深圳，毗邻观澜湖高尔夫球会。社区面积约7平方千米，有户籍人口2700多人，新莞人2万多人[1]。社区内的石鼓水龙油画村是镇里的文化项目[2]。

水龙油画村[edit]

水龙村因油画家聚居而称“油画村”。目前有20多名全职画家落户，不少人在塘厦扎根近20年，每年创作油画上万幅，作品远销国内外[2]。镇和社区先后投入400多万元改善创作基地和画家的生活工作条件，把旧市场改造为集创作、交流、生产、销售于一体的综合基地。该基地于2011年12月31日建成投入使用[2]。
