罗马村是清溪镇西部的行政村，村内共4个村民小组，其中有罗裙埔（原名禄家围）、马滩和天生湖。[3]村内的清樟路与天生湖工业区，是这个村近几十年变化的两个主要标志。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村内的清樟路修建于民国时期的1932年，一度是西出清溪的必经之路，也曾是广东省的省道。这条路在1987年以前仍是崎岖的山路，此后政府才铺设水泥路。[1]

上世纪90年代，清溪大兴修路招商，清樟路随之改道，罗马村从交通要道变为相对偏僻的村子。2001年，罗马路开始修建，全长4公里，路宽22米，2003年底竣工。同一时期，天生湖工业区开始开发，福基工业园、冠桥厂等企业陆续进驻。[1]

博雅地名网所载的一篇报道称，此后又投入近3000万元拓宽罗马路，把原来的双向两车道改为双向四车道，路宽增至28米。[1]

经济[edit]

据该村访谈，修路之前天生湖村小组全年收入不过80多万元，年终每人分红只有200多元。此后村小组收入增至500多万元，分红增至2000多元，村民的住房和出行条件随之改善。[1]

罗马村曾三次入选淘宝村名单，分别是2020年、2021年和2022年。[2]
