工业区与改造[edit]
白云前工业区于九十年代开始开发，以五金、电子和装备制造研发为主，总用地约500亩。村集体投资建设的厂房有13家，建筑面积约22万平方米，合计占地约300亩，约为园区工业厂房总面积的七成[1]。
政府网概况称，村内的白云前工业区“工改工”分三期开发，首期为村集体自行改造，用地21.2亩，投入资金1.05亿元，建成后预计每年为村集体增加约700万元收入。富田市场建设项目投入4000万元，建成后每年可为村里增收约400万元[1]。
环境与文化[edit]
蔡边村东南面是大朗荔香湿地公园。蔡边老人活动中心内有福德堂，该中心兴建于2006年，占地约1985.8平方米，内设娱乐室、曲艺室和村史馆[1]。村里还开展麒麟武术培训，传承非物质文化遗产麒麟文化[1]。
