向西村是广东省东莞市寮步镇下辖的行政村，位于寮步镇西北部，莞樟路一段的黄沙河东岸，与茶山镇相邻。[1]
据村中记载，村子的源头与南宋开禧二年（1260年）的梁氏始祖文壁公有关。全村面积2.1平方千米，户籍3015人，另有外来暂住人口约6969人。[1] 博雅地名网所载的面积为2.7平方千米，常住人口约2500人，年份未注明。[2]
历史与姓氏[edit]
村中以梁姓居多，此外另有崔、叶、卢、赵、刘、钟、蔡、尹、张等姓的居民。全村由向南、向西和大岭下三个自然村组成。[1]
地理与侨属[edit]
村子东边与茶山镇卢边村、寮步镇石步村为邻，南边接塘唇村，西边隔着黄沙河，与岭厦、下岭贝、横坑、竹园等村遥遥相对；北边与茶山镇的得卢屋村连在一起。[1]
村里华侨及港澳台同胞有600多人。[1] 博雅地名网称，村里现有3个村民小组，黄沙河穿村而过，土地和水资源比较丰富，改革开放后开发了向西东区工业区。[2]
