市桥社区是莞城街道的一个社区，居于街道中部，面积为0.87平方千米。居委会于2003年7月设立，辖下八个居民小组，负责管理190条街巷。[1][2]

区内留有迎恩门与凤凰台，另有象塔街、兴贤里等历史文化街区。迎恩门俗称西城楼，是莞城的标志性古建筑。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1976年，这一带一度划为市桥与西正两区，1980年两区合并为市桥管理区。1987年归入城内街道办事处，1999年改为市桥街道工作办公室。[2]

人口与居民小组[edit]

据街道网站，户籍人口三万四千四百九十三人，计7499户，常住人口约一万人。博雅地名网记作户籍33324人，两处数字不同，此处取街道网站所载。[1][2]

居民小组共八个：登桂与同德，松柏与兴贤，北正、市桥，草塘与新华。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

迎恩门位于莞城西正路口，修建于明洪武十七年，即1384年。它与东门、南门、北门的城楼同属明洪武年间所建，距今已有六百多年，是东莞的重点文物。[2]

荣誉[edit]

社区获得的称号有「全国商业示范一条街」「全国学习型家庭创建示范社区」「全国和谐社区建设示范社区」等。[1]
