蚬涌社区在东莞市万江街道西部，靠近107国道。它的东侧与拔蛟窝相邻，西侧延伸到谷涌一带，南有严屋，北与黄粘洲接壤。村名来自境内河涌纵横、盛产蚬的景象。[1]
地名与历史[edit]
博雅地名网称，清顺治年间（1644年至1660年），松柏朗的一部分人迁入此地。当地河涌密布，土中和涌中都有很多蚬壳，因而得名蚬涌。[1]
民国时期此地属西平乡；1952年归拔蛟窝乡管辖，1988年从拔蛟窝分出，设立蚬涌管理区。1999年改为村民委员会，2005年改设社区居委会。[1]
