历史沿革[edit]
村名因聚居处的河涌盛产蚬而来。清末建村，清代后期有村民在此租田耕作并聚居，也有水上居民聚在此处；1987年成立蚬涌村民委员会，隶沙湾镇；1993年起归沙湾街道，自2007年1月1日起由桥南街道管理[1][2]。
人口与经济[edit]
村属沙田地区，居民来源广，姓氏多，少有宗族关系，主要姓氏有黄、梁、何、陈等[2]。2022年末，村中有户籍居民3012人、外来人员6103人[2]。传统上种水稻、甘蔗；改革开放后兴办冷冻厂、油厂、家具厂、时装厂等，现有企业和商铺共118家[2]。村内有占地4000多平方米的六层综合市场，并建有村民别墅中心村[1][2]。
荣誉[edit]
蚬涌村在2020至2022年连续三年名列淘宝村名单，2023年4月名列「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位，2024年11月入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单，并获评番禺区美丽乡村[1][2]。
