历史沿革[edit]

古村名石鼓村，据明崇祯《东莞县志》，石鼓山在东莞县城西南，山形如鼓，村名由此而来。东晋晚期已有“鸣石退寇”的典故流传，自南宋建村以来已有近八百年历史。[1]

社区现有绳武堂和石鼓李氏祠堂两处古建筑，均已纳入宜居建设中的文化遗产保护名录。[1]
