下桥社区位于东城街道内，辖区面积约3.82平方千米，属于一级经济。社区内的下桥钱氏宗祠为第九批广东省文物保护单位。[2][3]

博雅地名网称，下桥村是东莞境内唯一以钱姓为主体的村子，钱姓族人有2600多名。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1949年这里属第五区六凤乡，1953年并入第一区樟村乡，1957年归罗治大乡，1958年并入樟村大乡的范围。1960年才另设下桥大队，1984年为下桥乡，1987年为下桥管理区，1998年设村委会，2005年村改居，称下桥社区居委会。[1]

户籍共2695人，外地来此居住或务工者约7000人，常住户数为598户。社区有2个工业园、3座农贸市场，并设有占地约1.1万平方米的文化综合楼。[2]

文化遗产[edit]

下桥钱氏宗祠为明清时期的古建筑，宗祠石柱上刻有对联，表明本村钱氏出自浙江钱塘。该祠于2019年4月19日入选第九批广东省文物保护名单。[3][1]
