村委会设在一条贯穿全境的溪流旁，溪名铁坑水，村名由此而来。[1]

村里把村务与财务公开做到位，村民得以参与议事。村干部按期检查消防与防汛的隐患，并把脱贫户、孤寡老人和留守儿童放在心上照顾。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2017年10月，铁坑村被授予「第一批广东省卫生村」称号。2019年9月，铁坑村上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。2024年3月，铁坑村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
