大路边镇在连州市的东北角，属清远市；镇北隔省界与湖南的宜章、临武两县相望，镇南是星子镇。镇下设20个行政村。[1][2]

镇政府驻大路边村，地址为策玉路212号。一条石板大路从村旁经过，镇名由此而来。镇于1986年12月由区改设；「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」的称号在2024年3月授予本镇。[3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

相传南宋嘉定十七年（1224年；两处资料均写作1244年，与年号不合），有自长江、黄河流域南下的人家落户大路边村。[1][2]

解放前后此地归第二区管辖，1953年改设第六区。1957年建乡，1958年归星子人民公社，到1960年9月才单独成立公社。此后1983年公社改区，1986年12月区再改镇。2003年撤销山塘镇，其地划归本镇。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

两处资料载的面积相差悬殊：百度百科为223.35平方千米，博雅地名网为约123.7平方千米，均未注明年份。[1][3]

国道G107线过境。G234线改建项目征地进度已达100%，建成后将与高速公路形成“双国道+双高速”的交通格局。镇政府把本镇称作“连州北大门”，境内有秦汉时的古道。[3][5][6]

人口[edit]

博雅地名网载，第七次全国人口普查结果显示全镇人口约3.06万人（2021年6月公布），在连州市各乡镇中排第三位。[3]

百度百科给出的户籍人口为61619人（2019年末），维基百科则作27536人（未注明年份）。[1][2] 三处数字相差很大，本条目不取其一。

据百度百科，2017年本镇农业产值5.26亿元，比上年多5.6%；工业产值1.81亿元，增幅21.8%；当年固定资产投资4246万元。[1]

博雅地名网载，黄烟、红枣、龙须草是本镇主要产品，乡镇企业以水电业为主。[3]

2026年9月，镇党委的一篇文章介绍，圩镇翻新投入资金4800万元，楼房外立面改造495栋，沿G107一带清拆了35间危旧房屋。全镇入选省级“百千万工程”典型镇，其中黎水、大路边、浦东三村同获省级典型村的认定。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

骑田岭古道位于顺泉村境内。公元前215年，秦始皇派兵踏出雏形；东汉建初八年（公元83年），大司农郑宏上奏修筑后正式开通。今天保存较好的青石板路段约有4公里，路旁留有广荫亭、怀清亭、古桥和驿站遗迹。古道在2019年进入第九批省级文物保护单位名单。[7]

文化[edit]

据镇党建和组织人事办介绍，大路边村与山洲村协调开放了村内宗祠、古迹点位，供团队探访明清古建筑和红色革命遗址。[6]

镇文化站曾组织青年干部参观烈士陵园，介绍本镇红色文化资源。[8]

大路边村以「老表茶话室」为治理品牌，调解队伍由老党员、乡贤和退伍老兵组成，在圩日设茶桌议事，并试点「两指三制」治理模式。[9]
