博雅地名网称，村委会位于一条大溪的北面，故名溪北。[1]

博雅地名网的沿革写法是：1957年溪北组成高级社，次年改作生产大队；1983年设乡政府，1986年转村委会，1990年为管理区。1998年10月7日管理区又改回村委会，此后未变。[1]
