塘冲村位于三江镇，距县城约3公里，辖11个自然村，分为14个村民小组。[1]村名来自塘冲山：早先村里的自然村多散布在该山各处山头，从山中流出的河也叫塘冲河，这一带地方因此称作塘冲。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1963年2月，高岭大队与万和大队并为塘冲大队。[1]1983年此地改设乡级建制，1987年5月定名为塘冲村委会。[1]

1989年，该村委会先改为管理区，1999年4月起称村民委员会，人们仍习惯叫它村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

全村水资源和林地较丰富，特产包括苗竹笋、雷竹笋、金竹笋等竹笋，以及山楂、高山菜和有机稻等绿色食品。[1]

荣誉[edit]

「第五批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」一批中，塘冲村于2012年10月经司法部、民政部确定入列。[1]

「第一批广东省卫生村」称号在2017年10月由广东省爱国卫生运动委员会颁给塘冲村；「2023年广东省卫生村」称号则于2024年3月获得。[1]
