吉田镇是广东省清远市连山壮族瑶族自治县辖下的镇，位于全县中部偏东，连山县人民政府驻于镇内。全镇辖金山、成吉两个社区和八个行政村。[1][3]

吉田一带自南朝至明代屡次作县治，县城于1965年由永和迁至此地。1980年设镇，2003年三水镇并入，镇域沿用至今。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

镇政府驻地旧称上吉村，村名得自一位南宋时迁居连山的虞姓始祖，取其名字的谐音。民国二十九年前后，沙田与上吉两村合编为吉田乡，此后“吉田”成为地名与行政区名。博雅地名网的镇史条目记此事为1939年，百度百科记为1940年，两说相差一年。[1][2]

南朝梁至明朝天顺年间，这里先后三次作县治，钟山脚下的旧县治遗址今称古县坪。1965年县城由永和迁至吉田。[2]

1980年3月，广东省人民政府批准设立吉田镇。1983年底，吉田公社改为吉田区；1985年初，区与镇合为一体。2003年末，三水镇划入本镇。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于县境中部偏东。东边与连南瑶族自治县香坪镇为邻，南面接福堂镇，西面隔界与广西的大宁镇相望，北面与永和镇、太保镇接壤。[1]

辖区面积的数字有两个：百度百科作173.4平方千米，博雅地名网作约44.5平方千米，两者均未注明年份。镇区内国道323线与省道1960线相交。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科载2019年末户籍人口30205人。[1] 博雅地名网引用第七次全国人口普查的结果，记为3.38万人，是全县各镇街中人口最多的。[2]

2024年4月印发的《民族互嵌式社区建设专项规划》，把全镇分作两部分：八个行政村的乡村人口为8792人，金山、成吉两个居委会的城镇人口为21298人，两部分的少数民族都约占六成。[5]

经济[edit]

工业以人造水晶为主。农产品以稻谷、连山蜜柚和淀粉为代表，镇内商贸与服务网点在500家以上。[2]

2014年7月，住房城乡建设部等七个部门将吉田镇确定为全国重点镇。[2]

2012年，吉田镇获「广东省宜居示范镇」称号（第二批），镇内金山社区当年被评为市文明社区，全镇并创建了11个省级卫生村。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

县级文物保护单位中，石溪清代佛子庙位于吉田镇的石溪一带，维基百科称其为清代古建筑，1990年公布。[6][7]

龟背山遗址也是1990年公布的县级文物保护单位。县文物名录把它列为新石器时代遗址，维基百科注其年代为战国，两说并存。它的所在，县文物名录写作沙坪，维基百科写作大冲公区。[6][8]

第三批县级文物保护单位中有吉田镇清代甲科古村落，名录未注明其所在的村。[6]
