村名来自附近一座形似石螺的山。[1]

2014年底统计，全村共877户、3551人，劳动力1402人。农民年人均收入6805元，村集体收入11.57万元，经济总收入3096.06万元。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，石螺村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村的建制几经变动：1940年设保，1952年改设乡政府，1958年改为生产大队，1983年又设乡政府，1987年改为村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年再改为村委会，沿用至今。[2]
