地名由来[edit]

村名各取辖区大山口、湖溪洞两处地名的一字而成。[1]

村落与产业[edit]

村委人口2570人，耕地2285亩，为粮食生产区。调整种植结构后，经济作物与沙糖桔也有较大面积。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

山湖村前身为合作化时期的山湖社，1958年改为大队，1984年至1986年设乡政府，1987年至1995年为管理区，1995年起称村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，山湖村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2024年3月，村庄被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
