根竹园村位于清远市清新区东部的笔架林场之内，是其中一个行政村。村名来自此地四周长满的根竹仔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年这里属珠坑乡。1958年设根竹园工区，1989年转为管理区，1999年才有村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

博雅地名网载，广东省爱卫会于2023年5月把「2022年广东省卫生村」的称号给了坑坝围、坑口、石屋围三个村。[1]
