地名由来[edit]

村名与一段时期的社会风气有关：村民响应政府的号召，树立起以国家、人民、劳动、科学和社会主义为内容的新风尚，村名因此定为五爱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地1953年属井塘乡，1958年划出，另设五爱大队。1983年改设五爱乡，1986年成为五爱村委会。1989年曾实行管理区体制，1999年撤销管理区，村级建制改回村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号，本村的第下四村名列其中。[1]
