大南村是太平镇东部的行政村，村委会距镇政府约3公里，下辖15个村民小组。[1]村名取自原大南乡所在的大旺、南塘两个自然村的首字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年时为大南乡；1958年独立出大南大队；1983年复设大南乡，所辖为大南、中南、南北三片。此后1986年撤乡改设村委会，1989年划作管理区，1999年以后再改回村委会。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

全村546户、2010人，耕地约1158亩，是镇内粮食主产区之一，以水稻、花生和养殖塘鱼为主。[1]
