地名由来[edit]

清末，村民从英德迁到此地，把低洼的池塘挖平耕种，故名平塘。村委会驻于此地，名称由此确定。[1]

农业[edit]

村内地势平坦，水源充足，主要种植优质水稻。[1]

沿革[edit]

1953年设乡时以平塘定名，1958年为大队，1984年改称白庙乡，1987年设平塘村委会，1989年为平塘管理区，1999年再为村委会，沿用至今。[1]
