八甲社区隶属阳春市八甲镇，属镇中心区，是八甲镇的社区之一。社区名称沿用镇名，源于清代的八甲圩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

八甲社区成立于1987年，当时由原阳春县人民政府予以批准。[1]

据博雅地名网，清嘉庆年间（1796—1820年）在八甲堡的西门外设立集市，即八甲圩；镇因圩而得名。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，八甲社区列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
